Fixed survey price
If you are thinking of buying a boat but would like the main component, the engine, checked by a professional then please contact our office and we can arrange to do a full survey and report for a cost which isn't as high as you think.

New for 2011 - Boatmec now have a full stock of Volvo Penta parts for servicing and repair. This will ensure that all customers using the Volvo Penta brand can get a fast and reliable service from Boatmec or just be able to arrange a spares kit for their boat.

Gordon Taylor has now come on as service manager.
He has come from the motor industry with 6 years experience in sales and customer service. This is again another example of how we are trying to make Marine Engineering take the next step in customer satisfaction and service.

Boatmec install Irelands First Volvo Penta D4-EVC-D engine into the Master Mc Gra on Lough Neagh
The Master Mc Gra is the busiest passenger boat on Lough Neagh and has now had a revamp in the form of a repower by Boatmec. The engine is also using the new EDC-D system and has a completely new throttle pot with all driver interfacing done through the base of the throttle control. The drivers of the boat cannot believe how quite the engine is, how much power it can deliver and how little fumes it produces. They are now looking forward too the 2011 season and hope to get even more people out onto the water to enjoy this beautiful location.

Boatmec install new Volvo Penta D12 into Amellta
Amellta is a 36 ft pot boat working out of Malin head and is one of three boats powered by Volvo Penta. This engine was a replacement for an old D12 450hp running EDC and had clocked up an amazing 7000hrs. The new engine is 600hp and is using EVC-C with all new packages this boat should be supplying lobsters for your dinner table for a long time to come. The old engine is in the middle of a full overhaul and will be ready for it next 7000hrs soon, and will be for sale on our web site.

Boatmec install Irelands First D3-200 into a Dublin based Sea Ray
This Sea Ray had an old V8 Mercruiser petrol engine in it previously, but due to fuel prices and a cracked block it was time for a repower! This engine is the newest version of Volvo Penta's D3 DP-S and what an engine! It now makes an impressive 220hp 30hp more than its predecessor and still the lightest engine for its power. The engine is fully fly by wire, with cruise control, trim assist, speed/depth output and a side mounted throttle-gear control. This boat is currently on Dublin waters and its a flyer!

Boatmec moves into super yacht league
This summer in Dublin, Boatmec where asked onto the "MV SKAT", a purpose built 244ft super yacht. In the rear garage we carried out repairs and inspections on two tenders powered by Volvo Penta. We also supplied spares and training for the engineers on board.
